Dr Wang is working to develop integrative network models to combine large-scale matched genomic (whole-genome sequencing), transcriptomic (bulk and single cell resolution), proteomic and epigenomic (DNA methylation and ATAC-seq) data generated from diseased and control tissues, with a special focus on neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease. By decoding the hidden interconnected relationships among a large network of genes/proteins that underlie the disease pathology, he aims to identify new pathways/genes/cell populations that drive the key pathways of disease, in the hope that this may lead to novel therapeutics to treat the diseases.

Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology companies, and other outside entities to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their outside financial relationships.

Below are financial relationships with industry reported by Dr. Wang during 2025 and/or 2026. Please note that this information may differ from information posted on corporate sites due to timing or classification differences.
