Dr. Bianco has published numerous high-impact clinical trials in high-risk obstetrics and has served as the principal investigator for several randomized controlled trials focused primarily on induction of labor techniques. Her research on labor induction has influenced national approaches to induction practices. She has also led and contributed to clinical trials aimed at reducing infectious morbidity associated with labor and delivery, including the PRACTICAL trial published in Obstetrics & Gynecology and the STRIPES trial published in the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology. In addition, she has participated in prospective trials designed to mitigate the risk of peripartum hemorrhage, with findings published in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Cureus. Dr. Bianco also published one of the few studies examining the impact of catastrophic health expenditures on pregnancy and delivery in the United States, highlighting differences in costs for privately versus publicly insured pregnant individuals and the effects of the Affordable Care Act; this work was published in Obstetrics & Gynecology in 2022. Her broader body of research also examines the influence of social drivers of health on adverse pregnancy outcomes and mode of delivery, and includes publications highlighting disparities in the use of toxicology screening among pregnant patients.
